August 4- CRYS MATTHEWS https://www.crysmatthews.com/ Already being hailed as “the next Woody Guthrie,” Crys Matthews is among the brightest stars of the new generation of social justice music-makers. A powerful lyricist whose songs of compassionate dissent reflect her lived experience as what she lightheartedly calls "the poster-child for intersectionality," Justin Hiltner of Bluegrass Situation called Matthews’s gift "a reminder of what beauty can occur when we bridge those divides." She is made for these times and, with the release of her new, hope-fueled, love-filled social justice album Changemakers, Matthews hopes to take her place alongside some of her heroes in the world of social-justice music like Sweet Honey in the Rock and Holly Near. Of Matthews, ASCAP VP & Creative Director Eric Philbrook says, “By wrapping honest emotions around her socially conscious messages and dynamically delivering them with a warm heart and a strong voice, she lifts our spirits just when we need it most in these troubled times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Alqf6Nh4t38
July 28- MARY GAUTHIER https://www.marygauthier.com/ ‘‘one of Americana music’s most admired artists- across the U.S. and …around the world.” - The Wall Street Journal Mary’s new CD ‘Dark Enough to See the Stars’ came out June 3, and is already #1 on the national Folk radio charts. with special guest Jaimee Harris https://www.jaimeeharris.com/bio
July 14- DON WHITE https://www.donwhite.net/ I’ve never seen a comedian that made me both want to laugh AND go home and hug my kids.” – a fan. There is no one-word description for what Don White does. He has survived and thrived for more than thirty years, bringing his audiences to laughter and tears in his live performances, studio recordings, and on the printed page. He is a storyteller-comedian-author-troubadour-folk singer-songwriter. He is a walking challenge to the phrase “file under.” Best to just sort him under “Don White.”
Don’t forget! Bring your own blanket or lawn chair to sit on the grass. Picnic dinners and take-out welcome.
Concerts rain or shine..... ***
