more about the bands:

ENTRAIN

Epic in sound and kaleidoscopic in vision, the eclectic Martha's Vineyard-based six piece Entrain has been thrilling critics and fans alike since its inception in the ‘90s, winning multiple Boston Music awards along the way.

Entrain returns by popular demand.... this year, they’ll kick things off on Saturday.

Formed by drummer Tom Major in 1993, Entrain is also lead singer/guitar wiz Brian Alex. Joining them is bassist M'Talewa, saxophonist/keys/percussionist Rob Loyot, saxophonist/percussionist Hilary Noble and Trombone/keys Lennie Peterson Veterans all, their collective resume includes stints with such diverse players as Bo Diddley, Carly Simon, Chuck Berry, Southside Johnny, James Mongomery, Flor De Cana, and Blood, Sweat, and Tears.

Entrain has recorded eight albums, available on Dolphin Safe Records, all of which have been praised for their ability to shift effortlessly between musical styles - from rock, blues, calypso and ska, to zydeco, jazz and funk - often within the same song.

DANIELLE MIRAGLIA & THE GLORY JUNKIES

Danielle M & The Glory Junkies is lead by Boston singer/songwriter-guitarist Danielle Miraglia. Their sound combines the blues rock vibe of The Rolling Stones and Janis Joplin with Danielle's signature lyrical ability to explore human nature at its best and worst.

**This just in...2019 Female Performer of the Year from the New England Music Awards**

All My Heroes Are Ghosts touches on a lot of what might be on your mind these days – the loss of so many musical heroes on the title track, the chaos of “fake news” on “Monster,” our collective anxieties on “All On Fire,” and more.

The music itself blends influences of some of Miraglia’s own musical heroes - The Rolling Stones, Prince, Janis Joplin etc. with bandmates Laurence Scudder (Ryan Montbleau Band, Spotted Tiger), Erik White (The Brothers McCann), Jim Larkin (Jesse Dee Band) and Chris Anzalone (Room Full of Blues, The Revelations). Recorded with Dave Westner at the legendary Woolly Mammoth Sound in Waltham, MA.

“The first time that I saw one of her live shows, Danielle Miraglia’s intoxicating brand of hot bluesy music, built on an underpinning of scorching guitar riffs, melted the chill off the bitter cold New England winter night in an instant. Truth be told, I don’t believe that there’s an audience anywhere who wouldn’t be blown away after seeing a performance by this gifted Boston-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist extraordinaire. From her opening song, she lights up the darkness and explodes like a tsunami roaring across the open waters of the ocean.” —- Paul Collins, Nashua Telegraph

the catbirds

Using the ancient techniques of Rhythm & Blues, Rock & Roll and crazy loud stupid stuff to fight the musical war on boring and get people moving again.

“A band that makes a glorious racket of jittery rock ’n’ roll of the sort teenagers make after hearing ‘My Generation’ for the first time… and (Chandler) Travis takes the hook wherever it needs to go.” — Scott McClennan, Boston Globe

porch party mamas

Inspired by playing and singing each others songs at their own "porch parties", these established Boston area musicians and singer/songwriters decided to combine their individual talents and create their own brand of Urban Folk, Country and Blues. They took their act on the road and "Porch Party Mamas" was born. All are seasoned players, each with their own pervasive individual music persona and critical accolades. Between them, they have shared the stage with a distinguished litany of artists, including Willie Nelson, the Indigo Girls and Lyle Lovett.

“You never know what's going to come from having a porch party, especially when the attendees are a bunch of dynamic lady musicians with impressive resumes…" — Milva McDonald, Boston Globe

The undaunted professor harp

Born and raised as Hugh Holmes of Boston, Mass., the emanations from his harmonica and vocals make it clear that Professor Harp has the blues of Texas and the whole wide Delta coursing through his veins. Under the influence of many diverse blues greats, Professor Harp has developed a robust playing style, employs the standard or traditional ‘electrified’ blues harp, and The Professor tops this off by singing the blues with an infectious fervor, supported at his strictest insistence by only top-flight musicians on guitar, bass, and drums.

“Whether cruising with the groove or sailing over it with a melodic phrase, Harp was in control, putting his personal oomph into each number.” — Bill Copeland, Music News

heyday

Kathleen Healy & Randy "Randolin" Patterson joined forces back in 2012 when Randy composed some guitar & mandolin leads for her original songs on her first studio album. When the album released in 2014, Randy was on stage playing those sweet guitar and mandolin leads. They were joined by many other musicians including Bill "Earthquake" Kwaak on drums. By the summer of 2017, Kathleen had a bandstand gig in Dennisport and was hoping for a slightly bigger sound. Randy happily joined her for that gig, and the two began playing regularly in Mashpee, Brewster, West Dennis, and more. Bill Kwaak joined in on light percussion in the form of the suitcase drum kit in 2018. They aspire to capture that feeling of the Heyday on Cape Cod when they play. With Kathleen on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Randy on lead guitar, mandolin, and vocals, and Bill on drums and backing vocals, they play a mix of Kathleen's originals and classic Americana and folk rock cover tunes. So come on out for peace, love and music!
